GiveMeSubfor macOS

Subtitles for everything your Mac plays.

A menu bar app that listens to your Mac and captions it live, on your Mac, in an overlay above every window. Nothing leaves the device.

Install with HomebrewMac App Store: coming soon

Made for the moments you miss a line.

How it works

  1. Your Mac plays something

Any app, tab, call or game. GiveMeSub taps system audio with a Core Audio process tap, so there is nothing to route or configure.

  2. A model on your Mac listens

The bundled Whistle speech model transcribes on-device. No network, no account, no audio ever written to disk.

  3. Captions float above everything

A small overlay sits above every window, fullscreen apps included. Rolling shows a running line; Subtitles shows whole sentences.
